Tier Testing

Tier testing gets you an official rank on , the community PvP ranking system. A tester duels you and places you in a tier from LT5 up to HT1 for that gamemode.

Pick your gamemode

Choose the gamemode(s) you want to be tested in, then join that gamemode's Discord server by clicking below.

Note: Tier testing is not done in the Apple PvP Discord server, use the gamemode servers above.

Join the waitlist

After joining the gamemode's Discord, find the #request-test channel:

In that channel, use the MCTIERS bot to Verify Account and then Enter Waitlist:

Wait for a tester

When a tier tester for your region is available, they will ping the waitlist channel. Once you reach #1 in the queue, you are next in line, your test starts as soon as the current player's test finishes.

Note: it may take several hours for the waitlist to open.

Frequently asked questions

Which tier is the worst/best?

Tiers follow the order LT5 → HT5 → LT4 → HT4 → LT3 → HT3 → LT2 → HT2 → LT1 → HT1. LT5 is the lowest tier and HT1 is the highest.

Why can't I see my own tier in my nametag on Apple PvP?

You can't see your own nametag in Minecraft. Mods that allow you to do this will not reflect the custom server side nametag.

When will other players see my tier on Apple PvP?

Other players will see your tier in the gamemode you are tested in. For example, if you are HT4 in Axe, players will only see that tier when fighting you in Axe. Also note that if you recently got tier tested, your nametag will not update until at most 4 hours after tier testing.

How can I hide or remove my tier?

Once you tier test, it's not possible to remove your tiers from mctiers.com, however you can hide them on Apple PvP in /settings by setting "Show Own Tier" to OFF. Note that players can still use external mods or search your name on mctiers to see your tier when this setting is enabled.

Can I retest for a higher tier?

Yes. You have a current tier and a peak tier. Your current tier is always the most recent tier you got from a tier test, and it's what is shown on mctiers and Apple PvP. Your peak tier is the highest tier you have ever gotten from testing. For example, if you tested LT3 and then retested and got HT4, your peak tier would be LT3 and your current tier HT4. Note that you always receive mctiers points from your peak tier.

How do mctiers points work?

You receive points based on your peak tier in each gamemode:

  • Tier 1: HT1 = 60 points, LT1 = 45 points
  • Tier 2: HT2 = 30 points, LT2 = 20 points
  • Tier 3: HT3 = 10 points, LT3 = 6 points
  • Tier 4: HT4 = 4 points, LT4 = 3 points
  • Tier 5: HT5 = 2 points, LT5 = 1 point
My account was hacked or lost, how can I transfer my tiers to another account?

Tier transfers are only done in the McTiers Support Hub discord server. Once you join, make an "Account Support" ticket. Note that it is not possible to delete tiers without transferring them to another account, you must have a new account to transfer them to. Tier testing on a new account without transferring your tiers is not allowed, and will result in being banned for alting.

Can I test on bedrock or on a cracked account?

No, neither mctiers nor Apple PvP supports bedrock or cracked accounts. You must test on a premium Java account.

I can't find the #request-test channel
  • Make sure you are in the right discord server. Tier testing is not done in the Apple PvP discord server.
  • If you joined the Vanilla discord, make sure to verify by going into the #verification channel and clicking the checkmark reaction.
  • Make sure you are able to see all channels by right clicking the server then enabling Show All Channels.
I can't verify my account on the MCTIERS bot
  • Use 1.21.3 vanilla Minecraft with no mods
  • Go to the #request-test channel and click Verify from the MCTIERS bot.
  • In Minecraft go to Multiplayer then Direct Connect and manually type in the IP the bot provided. If you copy paste the IP, there will likely be spaces after that mess it up. Take your time to read correctly and type it in. Then click join.
  • After verifying click Enter Waitlist to enter the waitlist
  • If you are still having issues create a support ticket in the gamemode discord server. Do not create a support ticket in the Apple PvP discord.
I'm #1 in the queue, why am I not being tested?

#1 doesn't mean "being tested right now", it means you're next in line. Another player is already dueling the tester, and your test starts as soon as theirs finishes.

Is there a testing cooldown?

Yes, you can only test once every 30 days per gamemode.

Where will my tier show up?

On mctiers.com and on Apple PvP for that gamemode.
